about the farm
“An ode to the queen flora and healing beauty that is the rose.”
our story
An ode to the queen flora and healing beauty that is the rose.
Lola Rose is a cutting rose farm blessed to grow on Wiradjuri Country off the Canola Trail in Temora NSW. Here, we nurture a rainbow of roses to grow just as nature intended so we can share their magic with you.
There is a whole world in the beauty of each stem if you look closely enough. Each petal, each fold, each thorn connecting us back to nature. We want to bring nourishing moments of calm and peace to your day, offering a romantic experience of self-care through the gift of a rose.
Journey with us as we grow from paddock to bloom.
our farm journey
Lola Rose Farm founder Alison Swanston has always had a love affair with roses, linked throughout history as being a symbol for love, healing, beauty and the feminine goddess. One of her fondest memories as a child was reading ‘The Secret Garden’, by Frances Hodgson Burnett, instilling her love for magical gardens and daydreams of her own garden one day.
Now together with her husband Matt, Alison is excited to build this dream and connect with nature as a family alongside their four beautiful children Nate, Tristian, Hunter and Oliver.
Lola Rose, the sweet namesake originally saved for a daughter who would come to fruition in the petals of the rose. Starting with 100 bare rooted roses to fill the vacant paddock next to their family farm home, Lola Rose Farm was born.
We are all a part of nature and together we pay homage to her with the rose.
sustainability at the farm
Lola Rose farm nurtures the connection of oneself to nature and blooms nourishing moments of self-care with naturally grown roses for direct trade to customers and via wholesalers who share our romantic vision.
At Lola Rose Farm, we embrace chemical free practices wherever we can to help our buds thrive naturally such as companion planting and natural solutions to ward off pests and disease. This isn’t always possible depending on the harshness of the season and environment, meaning we sometimes have to use gentle chemical solutions to assist in helping our beautiful roses thrive and survive.
As we grow alongside our roses, we intend to flourish with sustainability in mind and minimise waste as much as possible. Leftover buds and petals will be collected and dried for future projects and our resident sheep enjoy the leaves and stems.
